An Evening with the Artists

Thursday, October 17th at 8pm
41 Binscarth Road

For five years, Amici Chamber Ensemble has dedicated itself to an important and valuable youth education initiative. Throughout the 2012-13 season, the Ensemble invited special guests Ben Smith and David Louie to workshop with young composers at the Claude Watson Secondary Arts Program.  Through this mentorship program students benefited from the opportunity to explore composition and performance with five of Canada’s most celebrated musicians.  Twenty-four young students each had the opportunity to workshop their composition, written for Amici,  over six memorable work sessions with the Amici directors and their guests.  The season’ program concluded on November 2nd, when the most promising student’s composition was played at Mazzoleni Concert Hall for a full house of Amici Chamber Ensemble subscribers and the young workshop participants.  It was a proud memento for all of us who have supported the program, and we so look forward to continuing with this year’s group of young, hopeful composers!

An Evening with the Artists will directly support his youth education initiative, and Amici’s other performance programs.  Amici will be playing an intimate performace from their 2013 JUNO-winning Levant at the beautiful Rosedale home of Phil & Eli Taylor.  You’ll have the opportunity to meet the musicians, bid on exciting silent auction items and enjoy fabulous food and drink among friends.

Online ticket sales for this event are now closed.  Please use our contact form for inquiries.
