Amici Chamber Ensemble dedicates itself to an important and valuable youth education program: the Young Composers Program. Throughout the season, Amici’s artists workshop with young composers at the Claude Watson School – Earl Haig Secondary School. Through this mentorship program, students benefit from the opportunity to explore composition and performance with some of Canada’s most celebrated musicians. Young students each have the opportunity to workshop their compositions over six memorable work sessions. At the conclusion of the workshops, the most promising student’s composition is selected to be played at an Amici series concert, for a full house of subscribers, new patrons, and the young workshop participants.
